Favorite Authors/Favorite Books

Some of my favorite authors as follows:

Dean Koontz

John Grisham

James Patterson

Lee Child

Michael Crichton

Tony Hillerman

J. A. Jance

John Saul

Stephen King

J.R.R. Tolkien

Kahlil Gibran

Charles Dickens

Mark Twain

Stephen Leacock

Louise Hay

To name a few….

My all time favorite book is Alice In Wonderland. If I could only take one book with me to a desert island, that’s the one I would bring along.

My favorite all time poet would have to be Emily Dickinson.

I tend to stick with fiction, I avoid biographies and autobiographies, anything to do with celebrities or the Royals. I like suspense and mystery, the shorter the chapter the better. I prefer 3rd person central, but will read 1st person central if it is really well done. Otherwise I feel like I’m talking to myself, instead of reading…I appreciate larger print, not huge, just easier to read. I don’t wear glasses for reading, and don’t intend to….yet…

I still have a lot of the books I read in high school, Catcher In The Rye, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby and some Shakespeare stuff. I find it hard to part with my books, it’s the one thing I really struggle to find space for, although, it’s getting a bit easier.

Final note: You will NEVER catch me with a Kindle reader, or anything similar. I like the experience of reading, and that includes the feel of the paper, the rustle as I turn pages, and I love the smell of a new book…

  1. I felt the same way about books, but I did indulge myself with a kindle reader and I am enjoying it. I still read physical books, but I do love being able to immediately begin to read a book when I want to instead of having to go out to buy it or get in the car to go to the library!
